• Produces warmth is small amounts and strong heat in large amounts
• Nature is PURE YANG and can therefore restore weakened yang
• Opens the twelve primary channels
• Regulates the Qi and Blood
• Expels Cold and Dampness

• Used for chronic weakened conditions where the channels have been obstructed by Cold or Dampness or more generally for stimulation of the circulating Qi and Blood.
• Very effective for Asthma, Diarrhea, Arthritis, Rheumatic pain, Vomiting, Abdominal pain, and Certain gynecological disorders.
Pain in Chinese medicine is always some kind of stagnation.
Painful conditions are known as “bi” syndromes. Unless hot or warm, they all respond well to moxa because it moves the stagnation. However, the conditions which responds most favorably are characterized by: severe stabbing pain in the joints, pain alleviated by warmth and aggravated by cold, numbness or heavy sensations of the limbs, soreness and fixed pain of the joints, aggravated on cloudy or rainy days.
Moxa “wool” is made by taking the fresh leaves, which are picked in the spring and dried in the sun. They are ground into powder and sifted and filtered to remove sand and stems. This process is repeated until a fine, soft “wool” is produced. The plant flourishes in varied climates so it is relatively cheap. It has been the most popular material used for this purpose for over 2,000 years.
In General, acute conditions require more, larger cones, and chronic conditions need smaller cones or rice grain.
Moxa can be:
• Rolled into POLES
• Shaped into CONES for use on NEEDLES
• Burned in a Moxa box
• Used in Tiger Thermie warmer
